Selena was sold by her stepmother for two million and shoved into the Hale pack as a "weak-wolf bride." Wedding day, Caden did not show; a lawyer told her to put the ring on herself. Sister-in-law Vera runs the house and yanks a five-year-old girl's hair in front of the staff. His kids Cole and Scarlett live like outsiders. Selena shields them, sets rules, cleans house, opens the books, and takes the pack. When Caden returns from the west, the house already has a new master.
